Would a graphical calculator be a decent investment? If so, which one?

Hi, It's the start of another school year and we've just launched into our Core 3 Maths work; 'arduous' doesn't do justice. My teacher let us in on a secret that we can use a graphical calculator for Cores 2, 3 and 4 exams. Ambivalence: does the digital assistance outweigh the (supposed) steep cost of purchasing one of these? As I'm wanting to do Maths at University, then I can't help but feel that the benefits DO outweigh the costs. It's my birthday in a couple weeks, so my mum has said that if I want/need it, she can get me one as a birthday present, which made sense to me. So, I wanted to ask a number of things- some of which already asked above and I have nearly already answered them, lol. So, how much would I be looking to spend? Where can I get them from? Which ones are the best ones? Any other things worth bearing in mind? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Take care, Simon

  1. TI-84 plus silver editions are what most people say are pretty decent......most people have those TI-83s are not bad either the one above that (platinum??) is considered wayyy too confusing to use and understand they are about $100-$115
  2. buy the HP-48GX. Great (and cheap) calculator...
